Description:

I wasn't sure if this was grey oyster fungus or brittle cap. I googled images and thought maybe it was one of those. These small white "shells" have formed all up and down the side of this tree. They are growing in the grooves of the bark. They are all pretty small, measuring just 1 - 5 centimeters in width.

Habitat:

We were deep in the woods of Farmdale Recreation Area near East Peoria, IL.
