Thanks Sean Uhl for the Lead. I got the ref. for Lychee Shield Bug, Jewel Bug; Chrysocoris stolli: www.indianaturewatch.net/view_cat.php?tag=Chrysocoris%20stolli
I apologize: Hemiptera is the Order, not the Family. The Family is probably Scutelleridae. I thought this was a Rainbow Shield-backed Bug (Chrysocoris sp.) but when I compared images...I don't think that is correct either... http://www.whatsthatbug.com/2011/08/12/lychee-shield-bug-from-senegal/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scutelleridae
I'm pretty sure this is a type of Shield Back bug (not a beetle!) I'm going to look around online and see if I can find the name of the genus and species. They are what they call "true bugs" and if I remember right the family is Hemptera or something like that.
Thanks rams4d, FredLuizRomeiro, Jellis, Marta and tmvdh for making it favourite.
