Just checked the original, it wasn't a wall, it was my wife's sleeve! I agree it looks like your first picture.
I have taken photographs of these seeds back in 2011 when I visited a tomato garden near the Kundasang town. http://images.plurk.com/pwx9-6qXp8JjiGPgrP3As0T4h6d.jpg Looks like a match. ...and got brushed off on to a wall! I'll check the original photo, see if there are any clues there.
Is it really a bug? It looks like the seed of Bidens flower that will get stuck onto the pants of those whoever brushed past them.
