Field Notes

Description:

I was photographing a Black-winged Stilt when this flew by in the background, hence this crop from the original has it out of focus as the Stilt was much closer. It is however the only photo I have of one in this specific location.

Habitat:

Coastal lagoon and wetland reserve. The lagoon is supposedly freshwater, fed by a river which sometimes breaks through the narrow sand barrier into the sea which also allows salt water to get in. A system of bunds is supposed to stop salt water reaching all parts.
