Description:

Light underbelly, grizzled gray above, these arboreal squirrels are common in our area.

Habitat:

Forested areas, but are very common in many suburban and even urban areas, including parks and residential areas.

Notes:

This squirrel has taken up residence in a woodduck house that I built a few years ago. I've raised more squirrels in the house than wood ducks! The current occupants often sit in the entrance--like this one is doing--on sunny days to warm up.
