Sharp-Shinned Hawk

This one was on the pacific ocean at the mouth of the Smith River in California near the Oregon border. Large numbers can sometimes be seen along coastlines and ridge lines as they move south in the fall. They usually nest in coniferous, deciduous and/or mixed forests. They can be found throughout North America.
