Description:

Cross Fox (partially melanistic). It had a small snowshoe hare in its mouth. Most of the foxes on the island are cross foxes. I think that is because many silver foxes (melanistic red foxes) were introduced to the island long ago for the fur trade.

On a rural road far out of town
