Field Notes

Description:

This gill fungus was found in Singapore. Each bowl-shaped cap is about 3 inches in diameter . The first picture is a close-up, while the second picture is a shot of the log which the fungus was feeding on.

Habitat:

This was found during a mostly dry part of the year, in a secondary rainforest on a sunny day in Singapore. It was given partial shade by medium-size trees above it. The space around the mushrooms was devoid of large plant life for about 2 feet.

Notes:

I wasn't able to get very close to this fungus. I used my zoom for the close-up. I apologize for the lack of details. Please help me ID this species.

Great description.
I don't know for certain, but I believe there were.
Did it have gills on the under side of the cap?
