Field Notes

Description:

A round cabbage rose of creamy white petals with just the slightest touches of pink in the center of its 100 petals. The flowers, which are unusually large for a Polyantha, open from nearly spherical buds. Very fine fragrance. Grows 3-4 feet and is dense.

Habitat:

Texas wildlife habitat garden.

Notes:

I usually lose the first bloom of this rose to thrip, however this year it seems to be blooming early and very successfully. Enjoy :)

This is a very tough rose. Blooms all season, so the early case of thrip only briefly slows its beauty. Fragrance is fantastic. :)
That first shot really does look like a pink cabbage cut in half :)...an extremely pretty cabbage though!! I'm glad it survived so we got to see it.
