Brown stream frog
Rana chalconota
-6.8468, 107.581
Field Notes
Description:
Sometimes referred to as the white lipped tree frog, but that name is owned by a different species of green frog. Although this example is very pale in color, research shows that it can also have a mottled pattern to it, possibly capable of adapting to its surroundings.
Habitat:
Adjacent to a small stream. Altitude 1000m.
Notes:
Found high up on a broad leafed tree. Easy to approach, but get too close and it leaps into thin air with no apparent concern about direction. I have observed these frogs sitting on the same leaf for many days.
