Field Notes

Description:

Unripe cacao fruit growing off the side of a cacao tree. About 7 inches long and 6 inches wide. Light green in colour. White mold engulfed the bottom of three cacao fruits.

Habitat:

Humid, hot weather and the tree the fruit was growing on provided shade for the fruit.

Notes:

the fruits that were below at the bottom of the tree had a giant hole in the side. Only the brown casing remained, as the rest of the fruit was empty. It could be possible that the animal or creature that ate on the fruit was only big enough to reach the fruit at the bottom of the tree.
