Field Notes

Description:

Black in colour from head to tail with metallic gold shine on wings.

Habitat:

Spotted during a walk at Tanjung Puting National Park (Tropical forest) - Central Kalimantan, Borneo - Indonesia near the river.
The species is known from Borneo and Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, and southern Viet Nam.
It is found at open swamp in the forest, marshes, lakes, ponds and slow flowing streams and rivers in lowland areas.
