Eurasian collared dove

The very first sentence under African" says it all: "The African Collared Dove is an invasive species and has been in North America for quite some time, but in a different form." Note carefully those last 5 words, then read on and find out why. Basically, you have the same situation that we have throughout the world with the Rock Dove, Columba livia. The latest situation with the Rock Dove is that " Hybridisation (or inter-breeding) with other related species in most parts of the world means that it is highly unlikely that there are any pure-bred Rock Doves left in the world today" Remember also that the African Collared Dove and its ancestral Ring-necked Dove is smaller than the Euro Collared Dove, being more similar in size to the Mourning Dove or White-winged Dove, and generally slimmer also.

Agree with Euro Collared Dove. African Collared Doves are only found in Africa or pet shop hybrids.

Looks more like a Eurasian-collared Dove.
