Description:
An early-blooming member of the madder family. The flowers are small, approximately a quarter inch across (around 0.7 cm, give or take a couple of millimeters). The petals are a violet blue and a darker maroon color closer to the center of the flower.
Habitat:
Tiny bluets are low-growing plants and need direct sunlight. They are common in lawns and other moist open spaces without taller competing plants.
