Description:

The bird in the first picture appears to have projections on it's forehead similar to the Crested or Red-knobbed Coot but they are neither red nor in the correct location relative to the face mask and it has the pointed loral mark of the Coot. The one in the other pictures is surrounded by Shovelers.

Habitat:

Coastal marshes.
