Field Notes

Description:

This specimen was light brown/tan in color. Small in size. It had a center funnel-like depression in the center of it. The stem was slender in size, but proportional to the size of it. It was rough, almost "furry", like on the top of the cap.

Habitat:

It was located in a County preserve. It was growing on the bank of retention pond at the edge of the preserve. The edge of the pond had been cover w/wood chippings; and the specimen was growing through them. It was in full sunlight. There several of them in the area.
