Excellent Blue-banded King Crow Caterpillar
Thanks Jason. Two weeks ago I would have confidently identified your caterpillar as E. radamanthus . . . http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8954538 http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/17637033 http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/18147080 . . . but since then two things have become evident: * My earlier understanding of E. radamanthus larvae was based upon apparently mistaken information. * What is called E. "eunice" in Taiwan (where I lived for nine years), Philippines, Malaysia, Java, Thailand, and Guam have two more or less easily separable cats, which leads me to believe that two species are actually involved – the other possibly E. leucostictos.
I love your macro photos Jason. I look forward to seeing more. Bagus bagus!
