Field Notes

Description:

It is recognized by the color pattern on the abdomen (black with pairs of rectangular yellow spots). Yellow scutellum, and the wing with wide and clearly defined hyaline band posteriorly.

Habitat:

Range e. US (CT-KS to FL-TX) - known hosts include Brochymena spp., various Coreidae, and Dissosteira pictipennis (Acrididae)

Notes:

Another fly found on Carolina Cherry Laurel.
