Field Notes

Description:

They are a cream color with black stripes running down the back. They have a distinctive large scale on the tip of the snout.

Habitat:

Found in the western US, these guys were found under rocks in thorn scrub area. Pictures 1-4 are an older individual, and pictures 5-6 are a younger one.

Notes:

My first snake of the year!

Funny you found this guy right after I said on another post these are one of my favorites! They are extremely good for the environment, I just wish everyone realized that!
This one is gorgeous. Snakes are so helpful to the environment as are bats and spiders.
