Field Notes

Description:

This grey moth has a wingspan of about 30mm. The moth looked sooty with a mixture of brown, grey, black and white patterns. Tufts of setae were seen all along the back. In the middle of each forewing was a large swirly white pattern. Legs showed thin banding and eyes were large and dark.

Habitat:

Not much information about this moth. I am looking for more information on this moth. This moth was spotted at a bus shelter surrounded by native trees of various species.

Distribution:

Notes:

This Noctuid moth was a little damaged. It was missing some scales making the patterns diffuse and therefore, identification very difficult.
I am hoping that this is the correct ID and would greatly appreciate confirmation.
