Thank you ForestDragon, I have a feeling it is the African mantis - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_mantis (but the red pink eyes has me wondering)
Nice little nymph! Pretty eyes. Sorry but I am unfamiliar with Mantids from your area so I can't help with a Genus or Species.
