Description:

4cm Potato shaped fungi with a cracked surface showing darker red-brown interior. Leathery and hard surface like dried papiermache

Habitat:

In the crook of tree roots at the base of a gum tree. Ancient depleted reddish soils (Eastern Australian Coastal) with gravel and moss and lichen. The ground is moist and appears to be a little habitat that dries some time after the rest of the ridge area
