Field Notes

Description:

I found this mushroom on a fallen dead log. It is reddish orange in color and has ridges along the edge of the fungus. This is called the turkey tail fungus because of the bands of color that go around on this mushroom. At the longest point, from the log to the edge parallel to it, was about 5.5 cm. At the widest point, from one end to the other, it was about 8 cm.

Habitat:

I found this fungus in a secondary rainforest in Singapore.
