Description:

The blue dasher is a common dragonfly found throughout North America. The males are easily recognizable with their vibrant blue color, yellow-striped thorax, and metallic green eyes. Females are somewhat less colorful than the male.

Habitat:

Spotted next to a lake at the Bois D'Arc Creek Wildlife Management Area in Arkansas.
