White Ibis

The white plumage and pink facial skin of adult American White Ibises are distinctive. In non-breeding condition the long downcurved bill and long legs are bright red-orange. The dark on the tip of the bill in Photo 3 and 4 is mud. Like other species of ibis, the American White Ibis flies with neck and legs outstretched, often in long loose lines or 'V' formations. Immatures are shaped like adult, but with crown back, dusky neck, and orange bill. Older birds can be mottled brown and white.
