Field Notes

Description:

34-38cm Long tailed green parrotnwith yellow ring on hindneck. Four forms occur with areas of intergradation. Mallee form has green head, indigo back with a red patch on forhead.

Habitat:

Mallee form of the ringneck parrot found in eucalypt and mulga east and northeast of Flinder's Ranges to about Windorah Qld.

Notes:

We were in a free camp near Cobar and these beautiful birds visited us.
