Field Notes

Description:

Coreidae; Coreinae; Homoeocerini; Homoeocerus puncticornis (Burmeister, 1834). If anyone is interested in extremely minute bugs, you may be interested to look at the third picture. On Segment No. 3 of the left antenna of the female (the larger Leaf-footed Bug), you can just see (if you zoom in quite a lot) a rather blurred little creature having a walkabout, just crossing the centre vein of the the plant leaf.

Habitat:

Spotted in our front yard on a Hyacinth bean (Lablab purpureus) locally called Bataw. Plant identification - http://www.stuartxchange.org/Bataw
