Description:

This great blue heron mom fell asleep while keeping her eggs warm in her treetop nest. Her eyelids match her feathers in color. The wind played havoc with her crest feathers.

Habitat:

Wakodahatchee Wetlands Park, Delray Beach, FL. The park is fifty acres of unused utilities land that have been transformed into a wetlands ecosystem.
