Description:

Phillyrea latifolia, commonly known as green olive tree or mock privet, is a species of tree in the family Oleaceae. This is an evergreen shrubs or small tree, with small (2-6 cm) leathery, ovate leaves. It flowers in March – May and its small, greenish-white flowers turn to bluish-black drupes containing a single seed. It is a very important food source for the herds of goats and sheep in the mountains of northern Skyros Island, Greece.
