Field Notes

Description:

This yellow and brown caterpillar somewhat resembles a bird dropping.

Habitat:

Feeding on a lime tree (Citrus)

Notes:

I've been watching some butterflies trying to lay eggs on this Citrus in my yard but have not even seen any eggs. Finally one has developed. I've seen these adults defending a hilltop habitat. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8266122

Thank you Mari. Update on this caterpillar. It got eaten today by some predator, leaving a blood stain on the leaf. :(
