Brindled Crescent
Allophyes alfaroi
39.6794, -0.6703
Field Notes
Description:
20mm long at rest, implies wingspan greater than 40mm.
In Iberia this replaces the Green-brindled Crescent, Allophyes oxyacanthae, which is present in much of the rest of Europe, and has a green tinge.
As it has not yet been allocated a Common name I have used the European name without the "Green" prefix.
Habitat:
Balcony, attracted from the surrounding countryside by night light.
Limestone outcrop in foothills of Los Serranos mountains.
