Beautiful snake and great shot. I've always enjoyed Garter snakes and this is one of the most beautiful species of this group of snakes.
Here is your subspecies, Dannon. It's similar to the California red-spotted (Thamnophis sirtalis infernalis), but it's a different subspecies and quite a different range. Hope this helps.
