Field Notes

Description:

This is a banana tree. They don't have any fruits. Their fruit are bananas. The leaf shape of this tree is lanceolate. The leaf dimensions are more than 45cm wide and 130cm long. The leaf margin is entire. The leaf venation is netted pinnate. This tree doesn't have a certain arrangement though. The leaves feel smooth and deeply creased with veins. The bark/trunk feels smooth and a little squishy. The root system is prop and silt roots. The pictures are not very clear because of the sun.

We found this in the SAS rainforest. (Singapore)
