Thanks @bayucca and @Jakubko ; interesting debate
Agreed, the same reasons for my hopes of visiting there... ;-)
As I wrote below, VERY similar ;-))... If you look at the different spots you see quite a large variability in size within the same species. And do not forget: Colombia is a real nightmare for IDing. There are tons of still undescribed critters around.
Ah, I reached the same conclusion as you, bayucca. Deleted my suggestion. :-) I just was looking for a further species. I was thinking Dirphiopsis amamartiniana: http://www.boldsystems.org/index.php/Taxbrowser_Taxonpage?taxon=Dirphiopsis%20amamartiniana From what I've been looking at D. trisignata has a larger discal mark than in harsuame's spotting.
Saturniidae, Hemileucinae, Dirphiopsis sp.. Looks to good to be true!! I don't know if we should call this one Diphiopsis trisignata. There are several VERY similar around... http://www.learnaboutbutterflies.com/Andes%20-%20Dirphiopsis%20trisignata.htm
