Field Notes

Description:

Black w/ broad yellow band; and a row of marginal yellow spots. Hind wing has a band of blue underneath running parallel to the abdomen that no other black swallowtail in FL has.

Habitat:

This specimen was spotted in a County Preserve flying from one Purple Thistle to another along the side of a small road leading to the maintenance area for the Preserve.
