Couch's Kingbird
Tyrannus couchii
26.0734, -97.2086
Field Notes
Description:
They have a large head and bill and a dark, forked tail. The head is pale gray with contrasting darker cheeks. The upperparts are greyish-olive and the breast is bright yellow.
Habitat:
Found from coastal southern Texas to Guatemala. They are often perched at the tops of trees.
Notes:
They can pretty much only be told apart from the Tropical Kingbird by the call. Luckily, it was early morning and he was perched at the top of the tree singing his little heart out :)
