Field Notes

Description:

Green long-stalked w/ 5-petal white w/ yellow center flowers. The long ribbed seeds resemble needles w/ hooks.

Habitat:

It does well in most soils and conditions. This was spotted in a county park in an area that does not get irrigated and is overgrown w/ other vegetation.

Notes:

It is regarded as a pest. Reproduces profusely. But it attracts more butterflies than most; and that is what is liked about it.
