Field Notes

Description:

This grasshopper was a bit longer than the length of my pinky. It stayed still for quite a while on the jackfruit tree. I could only see the front four legs of the grasshopper, but we all know that grasshoppers have 6 legs. Also, it was mostly brown with white spots. If you look closely at the photos, you can see an orange drop of liquid at the end of the grasshopper. I can infer from this that the grasshopper was 'taking care of its business' at this time.

Habitat:

I found this grasshopper in a secondary rainforest located in Singapore American School, resting on a jackfruit tree.
