Description:

Shell was about the length of a US dollar bill (about 6 inches)

Habitat:

Beside Lafayette River. Munching or hiding beside mushroom similar in color to this turtle.

Notes:

Spotted during Lafayette Wetlands Partnership's Bio Blitz. Chuck Gibson observed the turtle with me, and said the eye color helps determine gender. Adult males' eyes are reddish; and females are usually deep brown!
