Field Notes

Description:

This Juvenile was waiting on the Jetty and kept peering over the sides at the many large crabs sitting in between the boards, the crabs were alot faster than the gull and disappeared back into the gaps whenever it put its head over the side! This was also the Jetty where the fishing boats came in so it may have been waiting to see if fish would be leftover for it. The Laughing Gull's English name is derived from its raucous kee-agh call, which sounds like a high-pitched laugh.
