Field Notes

Description:

The fruit of this plant is used to make chocolate. The fruit is about 13cm long and has some white fuzz growing on it, possibly fungi. The fruit is hard and firm and is cauliflorous. The leaves of this tree are around 30cm long and 10cm wide. The leaves are also very waxy.

Habitat:

Found in secondary rain forest towards the edge of the forest.

Notes:

To make chocolate, the beans are dried, ground into powder, and then mixed with milk and sugar.
