Field Notes
Description:
A long-legged slow moving spider with a span of 24 mm. Legs spread out from the body which is elevated above the ground. This male had large palps and a pair of forward-pointing eyes. The colouring was a reddish brown which gives it its name "subrufa".
Habitat:
Spotted on a garden wall. These spiders hunt at night when they are easy to spot. This species is seen in arid areas.
