Field Notes

Description:

This spider was very very small, about 1 cm in length and 1 cm wide. It had vibrant green and yellow colors, where the head was green and the body yellow. The legs were thin and translucent. Its head also had a large yellow blotch where the eyes were. Something to note is that its legs are a bit hairy.

Habitat:

I found this spider in Singapore American School's rainforest, which is a secondary rainforest. It was hopping along a path, which was moist with rainwater. The climate there was sunny, but the area it was located was shady. I spotted it at exactly 1:00 PM.

Notes:

The spider can jump very swiftly.

Link in ID is to an info page about L viridis in the USA. I think I've seen reference to them found in Singapore as well.
