Description:
A native vine that is a member of the honeysuckle family. Leaves are oppostie, often fused near the flowers. The flowers are long, thin and range from red to nearly orange. Pollinators include the ruby-throated hummingbird, the most common hummer in Virginia. The plant is evergreen, as the species name suggests.
Habitat:
Moist, well-lit edges of woods.
