Field Notes
Description:
Large deer-like w/ larger antlers. They tend to have a mane in winter. They are much wider in girth than deers.
Habitat:
They range along forest-edge habitat, feeding on grasses, plants, leaves, and bark. This one was spotted amongst the Headquarter's buildings at Yellowstone National Park. The Elk would graze and rest/sleep during the hot summer days in the shade of the buildings.
