Field Notes

Description:

ground cover, looks like moss from far away but is actually made up of tiny green fan shaped, extremely rigid, spiky plants, I've never seen anything like it, kind of looks like teeth

Habitat:

paramo, 4000m

Notes:

We spotted a lot of this on the way up to the summit of Volcan Purace, in the national park of the same name. It was strange to walk on it.
