Circus aeruginosus

Field Notes
Description:
The Marsh Harrier is a species of raptor typically associated with wetland habitats such as reed beds and marshes. Marsh Harriers generally express strong sexual dichromatism, meaning that males and females are dissimilar in appearance. Adult females are noticeably larger than males.
These raptors are slow fliers and can remain airborne at speeds of less than 32kmph (20mph). Flying at such slow speeds makes it easier for them to detect prey.
