Field Notes

Description:

This insect was about 3-4 cm long and 1-2 cm wide. It's body has a sort of pattern and the legs are brownish translucent. The eyes were a dull grey color and it had long antennas, which were interestingly striped black and white.

Habitat:

I found this insect in Singapore American School's rainforest, which is a secondary rainforest. It was standing still on a leaf of a low plant. The climate there was sunny, but the insect was shaded by tall looming trees. I spotted it at 12:51 PM.

Notes:

I'm not sure whether this insect is a grasshopper or a cricket. But when the leaf the insect was standing on shook, it barely moved.

Comments (1)

It looks like a type of grasshopper, but I'm not quite sure.
