Thanks for checking this one again. I think the genus is the correct one and with the possible candidates we should go indeed a little bit deeper. But I am already happy to find the genus in Noctuidae.
Thanks bayucca. Looking through various pages but I came back to this one http://lepidoptera.home.pl/lepidoptera/show.php?ID=3601&country=GB which I use a lot and it suggests that only Calophasia platyptera, which also looks close, is on the wing in October while C. almoravida is only on the wing April to June. C. hamifera also looks close but only flies June/July. Perhaps it's worth waiting to see if Manuel comes up with something, this is his home territory.
I think I got it... Noctuidae, Oncocnemidinae or Cucllinae, Oncocnemidini, Calophasia sp. and possibly Calophasia cf. almoravida. But, please, check also other Calophasia in your area. Calophasia platyptera is laso reported from some places in Spain, however, as I remember more the island then main Spain. http://www.schmetterling-raupe.de/art/platyptera.htm http://www.biodiversidadvirtual.org/insectarium/Calophasia-almoravida-img487592.html http://www.iberianatureforum.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=748
Noctuidae, I would say. The rest is tricky as usual. Not even sure which subfamily. Xyleninae, Hadeinae, Noctuinae??
