Field Notes

Description:

The scutellum body is typically half of an inch long, green, red, or brown color, usually trapezoidal in shape, giving this family the name "shield bug". The tarsi are 3-segmented.

Habitat:

Shield bugs are found primarily in fields, shrubs, bushes and in farm areas on plants and crops. In cooler climates, they will inhabit woodland areas. Although in this case I found this shield bug in a dense rainforest.

Notes:

Found In Singapore American School Rainforest
